I love my children...
Now they fix their own food, and that's great, but even with a full pantry, there's nothing to eat! They still play with their friends but I don't always know where because they are driving. And they tell me where they are and who they are with but I have to trust God that they are telling the truth and that He'll protect them. Clothes are an issue. All of us have so many that there isn't any place to put them, but there just isn't anything to wear. And forget the park or library! They'd rather stand in line for 24 hours to get Star Wars tickets.
But, I do love them.
There's the oldest, Patrick, the student of the Law. We don't get to talk very much, but I know that God is watching out for him. Along with SS, Liripipe and GC.
There's Michael, who graduated from the Franciscan University last Saturday. I got him a cell phone so I could find him but I still can't find him because he's out in the boonies camping or climbing.
And there's Kathleen, who literally saved me from going insane this week. Right after I had scanned over 300 pictures the CD writer broke. And I was in charge of making a slide show for the HS Seniors graduation. She saved the day and it went off without a hitch. In fact our local newspaper said it was the most popular part of the graduation ceremony.
Then there is my Elizabeth. A writer, a collector of swords and now a HS graduate ready to make her mark in the Fall at the Franciscan University.
And my baby, Kelly. On Pentecost she was confirmed after a long 2 year process and now can claim the name Kelly Maureen Maximillian Mary Kolbe Mason.
Daddy and I survived the 2 weeks of trying to coordinate all the events and it's almost finished. There is a sports banquet tomorrow night and the last day of school is Friday.
Life is wonderful and children are a gift given to us but for a short while by God - to teach and train them in the way they should go. Then they leave us, although they are still near, to make their way as an adult in this crazy world we live in.
We can only hope and continue to pray that we did as God wanted us to do and that they will not forget Him.
And may God bless all of you during your summer activities wherever they may lead you.
Kitty
