Missing the Sun...

In New Mexico most of our days, even in the winter, have a little sun. But lately there hasn't been any. And I know that the West coast, the East coast and everywhere in between have had lots of rain and snow these last couple of weeks. So I thought I'd go back just a month in time to when we were in Hawaii to give myself and others a little inspiration. Here comes the sun!

The Sun...

A day in Italy...

Posted by Hello Jay and I in Italy on our 2nd honeymoon!

Happy Valentine's Day...

I've been reading the Valentine's Day posts and getting a good laugh at some of them. There are Chocolate Bunny turds at Da Goddess and a Hubby who posted the sweetest pic of Cake Eater and him on their wedding day on her own blog. There are the single guys acting all cool, wishing they had somebody to love and the single girls crying in their single glass of wine because the single guys didn't get their rears in gear. And then there are the conspicuiously absent from blogging today, "newlywed couples".
Me, I'm stuck in bed for the 2nd day with a bad cold, trying to outrun the flu and pneumonia that I seem to be very vunerable to. The Hubby came through though and was very sweet today. First I got a very loving card slipped under my pillow, which I read when the Nyquil wore off. Later in the day I got a beautiful bouquet of roses and then because I really couldn't get my body to want to get dressed, he went and got us steak and lobster at a local restaurant. Wow, 26 years of being only one person's valentine. That my dear friends is half of my life as I will turn 52 in 2 weeks. All those lonely days in HS wondering if there would ever be anyone special in my life. The guys I left behind during college and a few years after and then the shock of finding that God hadn't forgotten me after all and blessed me with not only a wonderful, holy man, but 5 wonderful children. Most of the special days are just memories that pop up on occasion. Some though were too memorable to ever forget and just to make life interesting, I remind my dear one of those days. I guess you could say I'm egging him on, but it's so much fun. The best one was the VD day he totally forgot. After I threw my hissy fit and told him blah, blah, blah... he searched the town for hours until he ended up at a truck stop and bought everything they had left. That's one of the joy's of married life. You fight, but then you get to make up.
So to all of you lovers, young and old, I wish for you pleasant memories of a long life together. Those who aren't at that point yet, don't give up hope, God has someone very special for you, all in His time.
Happy St. Valentine's Day!!! Kitty
