New Orleans vs. Katrina

I think the win goes to Katrina, for now. The strength of people can overcome this tragedy and their strong faith in God, that I've heard for days now, will certainly help them. Our prayer and donations of money will also help. New Mexico's DMAT team and I believe the Urban SAR team have been deployed. I am still on the road, but closer to my home in NM now and if called to help will definitely go. Just need a few days rest from my marathon road trip. I left August 18 and have driven close to 5000 miles to date. I'll write more about that later, but wanted to comment on New Orleans as well as the entire Gulf Coast region which was devasted by winds and flooding. I found this site which seems to be pretty up to date on what's going on there. Here is the link if you are interested.
God bless the people affected and the emergency workers trying to help as best they can.
I also would like to request special prayers for my friend Peter (23), a New Orleans firefighter and his Mom and Dad. There is no way to contact them of course so prayer is the best I can do. Peter's goal for years as he was growing up with my son Michael was to be a firefighter. He reached his goal but I'm sure that something of this magnitude never crossed his mind. Peter, if you get a chance to read this please know that we are praying for you and your family. We love you and will continue to check for a message from you. Use 48! Kitty
