Paradise or pretty close...

Maui was very beautiful even though we had a couple of days of rain. It also got pretty windy at times. But it didn't stop anyone from relaxing by the pool.
One of the fun places we visted in Lanai was the original "Cheeseburger in Paradise". Great cheeseburgers and fun staff in grass skirts. The story about 2 girls from CA who opened it was on the menu. They have them in lots of different places now and the waiter told us that they were just bought out by Outback Steakhouse so we'll probably see them popping up all over. Whatever happened to Mom and Pop places?
The 3 "boys" bought what they called "Aloha shirts" and I don't think they wore anything else the rest of the time, well, except for swimming suits. Shorts were proper attire for even the nicer restaurants and my feet loved being in flip flops.
The above picture was taken with my camera phone - from our balcony looking out across the pool and the ocean.

I'm jealous! Sounds like you guys had so much fun. What a good idea for Christmas. Are you all planning on adopting any too-old-to-be-adopted children before next christmas?????

Well, sure! I'd be happy to adopt you but I don't think we'll be going to Hawaii next Christmas. But you can come to Gallup and we'll treat you like one of our own.
Seriously though, it was a great time and I'd love to go again. But it will take awhile to finish paying off this trip so it will be awhile before we do anything that grand again.
Hopefully we'll be coming out your way this year and be able to meet and go out to dinner. God bless you, Kitty
